About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Lead Police Officer (Field Training Officer), responsible to the Supervisory Police Officer (Patrol Supervisor), Law Enforcement Division under the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES).
What You'll Do
- →Leads a team of civilians or military police officers engaged in patrol duties.
- →Performs law enforcement work to maintain law and order, preserve the peace, protect life and civil rights, detect and investigate crimes, arrest or apprehend violators, and perform patrols within the jurisdiction of the military installation.
- →Conducts investigative stops, questions, detains, and issues traffic citations as required.
- →Monitors traffic surveys, traffic-signal observance, speed studies, passenger counts, etc.
- →Sets up road blocks, traffic-control points, and directs traffic.
- →Protects personnel, material, tactical military assets, and high value assets by executing daily RAM and supplemental anti-terrorism measures during increased force protection conditions.
- →Operates the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal in accordance with federal and state laws to transcribe data.
- →Provides response to interpreted messages, (e.g., broadcasts).
- →Responds to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
- →Reviews police reports, patrol reports and ongoing investigations to ensure complete/concise and factual information/reporting.
