About the Role
This Lead Medical Support Assistant (LMSA) position is in the Health Administration Service of the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center located at the Tomball VA Outpatient Clinic in Tomball, TX. **See IMPORTANT NOTES in the Additional Information section for THREE (3) clarification items to include all locations we are currently hiring. **
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Lead Medical Support Assistant(s) for the Clinical Operations, Ambulatory Care and Processing Section are responsible for leadership of the Advanced Medical Support Assistants and the Medical Support Assistants.
- →The Lead Medical Support Assistant (MSA) provides comprehensive, detailed, on-the-job training to all new personnel as well as refresher training in the unit.
- →Acts as contact person between the Health Administration Service, Supervisory Medical Support Assistant and VA staff.
- →Assignments at this level include, but are not limited to: Keeps supervisor advised regarding performance of MSAs.
- →Responsible for coordination of administrative functions associated with the care and treatment of patients in the outpatient clinics.
- →Evaluates personnel and work areas to establish adequate coverage.
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.

Requirements
