The Charles George VAMC is recruiting for one (1) Lead Medical Support Assistant within the Mental Health Service Line . The incumbent works as a Lead Medical Support Assistant and Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator(ADPAC) located within the Mental Health Service. Incumbent serves as a front-line Lead for the MSA staff in Mental Health Outpatient Clinics to provide lead administrative support for mental health programs and assist in clinic operations of MHS.
What You'll Do

- →Resolving complex problems to ensure patient services are met.
- →Evaluating new products, equipment and systems in order to make recommendations for improved operations.
- →Identifying educational or training needs.
- →Making final decisions on selections; evaluating performance; and reporting disciplinary issues to the supervisor or administrative officer when necessary.
- →Responsible for planning and directing the MSA's activities, and extracting and analyzing data from a variety of sources in order to provide reports in support of performance measures to senior management.
- →Monitors and makes work assignments, provides input on performance, resolves daily workplace issues maintaining efficient workflow.
- →Ensures accurate and timely scheduling of appointments.
- →Provides guidance to staff members to include changes in policies and procedures.
- →Distributes and balances the workload and creates employee work schedules.
- →Lead MSA works collaboratively in an interdisciplinary coordinated care delivery model (i.e.
- →PACT) and ensures all related duties, customer service and other duties assigned for the proper and timely treatment of patients such as appointment schedules are maintained by MSA staff for one or more outpatient clinics.
- →Lead MSA supports patient safety standards by ensuring the use of correct identification of all patients in accordance with established VHA guidance.

Requirements
