The Lead Medical Instrument Technician (Vascular) located in the Pittsburgh facility Hospital System performs difficult vascular imaging technical duties with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent judgment.
What You'll Do
- →Assist supervisor in the process of obtaining and maintaining certification for the vascular lab Leads a unit or team of employees performing the work of GS7 and GS8 level.
- →Assigns functions to all Vascular Technologists in order to meet routine and unusual deadlines and priorities.
- →Distributes and balances workload and tasks among employees.
- →Assists in making day-to-day adjustments in work assignments.
- →Provides expert advice on specific tasks, procedures and policies.
- →Monitors quality assurance programs Reports to physician and documents on the patient's record the test results.
- →Notifies the Vascular Clinical Specialist or physician of critical situations requiring emergent intervention.
- →Makes referrals to appropriate disciplines.
- →Adjusts patient examination priorities as needed.
- →Evaluates consults from outlying VAs to determine need for testing prior to Vascular Surgery clinic evaluation.

Requirements
