About the Position: You will serve as a Lead Project/ Engineer managing complex District construction programs, leading multidisciplinary teams, overseeing quality assurance and field inspections, administering contracts, negotiating modifications, and coordinating across stakeholders to ensure critical construction projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to technical standards.
What You'll Do
- →Observe and investigate construction at all stages to identify problems, takes timely action to change designs or recommend modifications to designer and/or contract to solve problems such as unforeseen site conditions.
- →Review contractors' cost breakdowns, contract progress data, material and equipment usage, and quality control and survey reports in order to compute progress payments to contractor.
- →Serve as a Team Leader, exercising technical guidance over a group of 5 or more engineers in which the base working level is GS-12, working with team members to accomplish work.
- →Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking on work in progress and reviewing completed work to insure priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met.
- →Prepare reports and maintains records of work accomplishments and administrative information and coordinates the preparation and presentation of project.
- →Resolve simple, informal complaints of employees and refers others, such as formal grievances and appeals, to the supervisor or an appropriate management official.
- →Train and arrange for training of team members in methods and techniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects, and provides or arranges for training.
