You will serve as a LEAD GENERAL ENGINEER in the Life Cycle Maintenance Division of the Carrier Planning Activity (CPA), DPAE Aircraft Carriers of CARRIER PLANNING ACTIVITY.
What You'll Do
- →You will have thorough knowledge of life cycle planning for nuclear powered aircraft carriers and a broad professional knowledge of and skill in applying theories, concepts, principles and methodologies.
- →You will have knowledge of naval maintenance principles, processes, techniques and business practices, for the IMP portion of the CMP (or equivalent), as related to the operation of aircraft carriers.
- →You will have the ability to think clearly, creatively and systematically, to exercise good judgment and originality in making decisions and recommendations involving complex issues where little to no precedence exists.
- →You will perform a wide range of data analytics to extract insights from maintenance data with a focus on improving the Incremental Maintenance Plan (IMP) for the CVN68CL and CVN78CL aircraft carriers.
- →You will liaise with outside organizations and coordinate with cross-functional teams to align maintenance analytics initiatives with organizational objectives.
- →You will develop and execute strategic plans for leveraging data analytics to enhance maintenance life cycle management for the CVN68CL and CVN78CL aircraft carriers.
- →You will prepare reports and coordinate the preparation, presentation and communication and make oral presentations to support management decisions.
- →You will validate and refine the aircraft carrier maintenance plan and update maintenance strategies to incorporate new technologies, changes in fleet operational requirements, or changes in executability requirements.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
