About the Role
This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Financial Management (OFM), Payment Accuracy & Reporting Group (PARG), Division of Exchange Error Rate Measurement. As a Lead Auditor, GS-0511-14, you will lead a team of Auditors and Health Insurance Specialists in the execution of SEIPM and FEIPM audit cycles.
What You'll Do
- →Communicate CMS's strategic priorities, mission, and organizational goals to the SEIPM team.
- →Translate program-level direction from DEERM management into clear, actionable assignments for team members, including defined milestones, audit timelines, and expected outcomes for SEIPM and FEIPM measurement cycles.
- →Lead in the research, development, and modification of audit protocols, methods, and techniques to resolve a variety of complex auditing issues.
- →Provide technical audit perspective and advice to management and program officials on the audit and compliance implications of proposed legislative and regulatory changes.
Requirements
- ✓Education Requirement: In addition to meeting the qualification requirements, all candidates must have the following educational requirements: Degree: accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
- ✓The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
