What You'll Do
- →Serving as a Law Enforcement Specialist (General Investigative Skill Instructor) GS-1801-12 makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission.
- →This position is located in the Investigative Operations Division (IOD) under the Technical Training Operations Directorate and located in Glynco, Georgia.
- →The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Law Enforcement Specialist (General Investigative Skills Instructor) which involves planning and conducting classroom, laboratory, and/or field instruction sessions as part of the division's training programs.
- →Typical duties include: Conducting training in basic and advanced areas such as the: Criminal Investigator Training Program (CITP) and Introduction to Criminal Investigations (ICITP).
- →Courses instructed by GIS include Physical Evidence, Identity Documents, Fingerprints, Criminal Investigations and Case Management, Report Writing and Documentation, Surveillance, Operational Planning, Execution of a Search Warrant, Undercover Operations, and Radio communications.
- →Monitoring progress of students, documenting results, and/or recommending remedial and corrective action to include additional training and changes in training and/or operational procedures and instructions.
- →Conducting research on emerging technology, practices, and techniques to enhance instructional knowledge and skill.
