What You'll Do
- →NONAPPROPRIATED FUND POSITION DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: IT Specialist (Telecommunications) FLSA Status: Non-exempt JOB SERIES: 2210 PAY LEVEL: NF-03 INTRODUCTION: The incumbent works in the Information Management Branch, for Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS).
- →The duties performed are surveying, designing, and installing telecommunication infrastructure.
- →This position involves creating and assessing Communication Service Requests (CSR), submission of CSR¿s to Base G6 Plant Records Section, and managing the CSR process.
- →Lastly, the incumbent is appointed MCCS Telecommunications Officer (TCO) and carries out duties as directed by both the MCCS Information Management Branch and Base G6.
- →DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts telecommunications site surveys at MCCS facilities requesting installation, relocation, or upgrades of telephone lines, data lines, and network connections.
- →Ensures optimal use of telecommunications resources to meet current and future requirements.
- →Prepares design documents using tracking software for CSR submission to Base G6.
- →Provides technical guidance regarding the design and implementation of telecommunications equipment and cabling.
- →Installs telephone and data cabling in accordance with design specifications and standards.
- →Serves as a technical liaison for telecommunications users and requesters, both within and beyond MCCS.
- →Performs ancillary duties related to network monitoring and maintenance.
- →Configures and ensures proper operation of routers, switches, fiber and copper circuits, and wireless equipment.
- →Analyzes traffic patterns and service logs to implement technical solutions.
- →Delivers World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on professionalism and courtesy.
