The incumbent will work within the NAS Enterprise Services Group, Weather, Flight Service & Aeronautical Information Services Team, Weather Processing Systems Subteam, AJW-1711.
What You'll Do
- →This position serves as a technical team lead reporting to the Enterprise Weather Processing Systems Second Level Engineering Team located at the William J.
- →Hughes Technical Center.
- →This position provides support for the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) Data Acquisition System (ADAS).
- →The employee participates as the lead technical team member towards the development, enhancement, planning, conducting and documenting of processes for 2nd Level Engineering activities.
- →These activities include serving as project lead for system modifications/upgrades and providing direct technical assistance to field personnel for the resolution of system or NAS issues, restoration of system or NAS services.
- →Principal duties of this position are ensuring the SLE business plan activities are completed on time and in compliance with applicable NAS policies and to up SLE standards of quality deliverables.
- →The employee leads problem analysis and restoration activities.
- →The employee is responsible to ensure issue information and status updates are communicated to all appropriate stakeholders and management as required and logged in the appropriate issue tracking databases for resolution in subsequent Support System Directives.
- →Duties include: Providing technical guidance and technical expertise to ADAS SLE team members Leading and coordinating projects to resolve NAS system issues and ensuring proper communication of plans, schedules, resources needed to management, program offices, and stakeholders.
- →Development of SLE and field technical documentation including processes, procedures, briefings, and reports as required.
- →Assisting management in identifying resources needed and optimal allocation of team resources.
- →Applies experience and comprehensive technical knowledge applicable to his/her discipline, as well as an understanding of new technologies and methodologies, to solve complex problems and develop improved technical processes or systems.
- →Considers the objectives of the major subdivision and LOB/SO when developing, integrating, and implementing solutions to diverse, complex problems.
- →Assignments frequently require knowledge and experience working across functional and/or organizational lines.
