About the Role
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number NGD1560P01 and is part of the TN 134th ARW Air National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →As an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), GS-2210-11, you will design and engineer data and voice networks carried over various transmission systems such as cable systems, fiber optic as well as copper.
- →Plan and design Wide Area Networks (WANs) consisting of Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Military Specification (MILSPEC) components to operate IAW accepted Information Technology (IT) security policies using automated network planning tools.
- →Coordinate frequency assignments with local Spectrum Managers.
- →Determine requirements and request resources from different agencies to support contingency and/or training networks.
- →Identify and correct network and transmission deficiencies in planned or currently operational networks.
- →Determine operational, technical and support requirements for the location, installation, operation and maintenance of network equipment and systems.
- →Develop short and long range planning procedures to meet mission requirements.
- →Develop training programs involving the standardization, control, and/or guidance of communications programs.
- →Serve as the central focal point for all Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNO) system vulnerability alerts.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
