What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list A IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK) (MERIT, T32), GS-2210-11, --Performs a variety of network device configuration and connectivity tasks. --Executes procedures and coordinates corrective action to optimize network performance.
- →Installs, configures and monitors tested and evaluated software packages that provide performance measurements of the WAN/LAN. --Implements the standard configuration software loads for all network devices.
- →Utilizes benchmarks and performance measurement and evaluation data to manage network servers and data communication devices to support normal and surge workload.
- →Provides input to briefings and presentations on the complexities of the installation networks.
- →These briefings provide the basis for long-range decision planning relating to C4 network project management. --Analyzes equipment and software reliability and utilization reports to identify and define problem areas and to establish end-to-end systems performance levels.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- ✓CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT This position is being filled under Merit Promotion procedures and is open to current employees only.
- ✓Minnesota National Guard Membership is required.

- ✓Applicants who are not currently a member of the MN National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- ✓Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- ✓Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- ✓Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- ✓Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- ✓Most MNNG position are covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968.
- ✓An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- ✓Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain/maintain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140 or DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level II or III within 9 months of hire.
- ✓Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- ✓MILITARY COMPATIBILITY: Upon selection, individuals will undergo a background check to validate suitability for employment with the federal government as permitted by law, regulation, Presidential order or other authority.
