THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), Position Description Number T59059P1 and is part of the KS 190 Air Refueling Wing, National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →As an IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), GS-2210-11, you will administer the base Local Area Network (LAN).
- →Implement new network operating systems hardware and software and develops base wide network operating procedures.
- →Analyze LAN utilization statistics through data collection and performance measures to ensure the smooth, reliable, and robust operation of LANs to include classified and unclassified networks.
- →Coordinate LAN installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and reviews, evaluates, and fine-tunes components such as virtual servers, hubs, switches, and routers to achieve peak efficiency within the overall network connectivity.
- →Assist in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of network systems to include the LAN/WAN.
- →Receive network, communications, and related operating systems from various sources such as design centers and commercial vendors.
- →Maintain an inventory of all network hardware and software.
- →Other duties as assigned.
- →Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK" Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5 day workweek, then a 4 day workweek ( 8 nine-hour days and 1 eight-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80 hour pay period.
