This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Central Operations (NCO), with 1 vacancy in College Park, MD. What You'll Do
- →As an IT Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Develop and monitor Information Technology (IT) software related to environmental observations and services.
- →Monitor all types of National Weather Service (NWS) infrastructure, to include numerous applications running on large computer systems.
- →Ensure effective around-the-clock/24x7 operational support of the NWS switching system, domestic network, radar data dissemination, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Integrated Dissemination Program, and other operational distributed architecture systems.
- →Maintain problem tracking and resolution systems, including the management of customer service performance requirements.
- →Assist in operational testing and implementation in support of modernization and upgrade activities of NWS Central Operations.
