About the Role

This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense. Title 5, United States Code, Section 9905, "Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense." This position is part of the Department of War, Media Activity (WMA). The incumbent will be responsible for developing policies, directives, and guidance to support cybersecurity operational requirements.

What You'll Do

  • As a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Develop policies, programs, and plans related to cybersecurity operations in the TSO area of responsibility to include working directly with WMA internal, and external partners.
  • Applies technical expertise to investigate cybersecurity issues, and recommends policies, plans and COAs for cybersecurity activities and exercises.
  • Ensures NIST 800-53 eMass Assessment and Authorization security controls for all assigned networks, systems, and applications contain supporting digital artifacts that prove implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for cybersecurity engagements with WMA partner systems, determines long range program objectives, and develops strategy for achieving those objectives.
  • Works closely with contracting officer's representative and vendors to ensure unclassified are fielded in accordance with program timetables and meet all DoW cybersecurity requirements.

  • GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study.
  • Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis.
  • If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
