This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Office of the Chief Data Officer. As an IT Specialist (DATAMGT), you will be implementing the Bureau's data strategy, which includes expanding its Fiscal Data Hub. The Fiscal Data Hub offers a cloud-native sandbox environment backed by Databricks and AWS designed for exploring, integrating, and predictive modeling on billions of structured records.
What You'll Do

- →The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13.
- →If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
- →Serve as a seasoned data engineer responsible for developing data ETL pipelines in Python and Spark.
- →Craft data storage and processing solutions using structured query language (SQL), unstructured query language (NoSQL), and/or commercial cloud services.
- →Catalog metadata and create automated data quality and integrity checks.
- →Create and advise on software templates and standards to be used by other offices for their migration to cloud infrastructure.
- →Receive, evaluate and responds to user requests for special purpose reports drawn from various databases.
Requirements
- ✓All newly appointed employees to the competitive (or excepted) service are subject to a probationary (or trial) period.

- ✓Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Periodic reinvestigation is required no later than five years after selection and at least every succeeding five years.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9.
- ✓Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
