This vacancy is for a GS-2210-14, IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Data Management) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Systems (CG-DCS), Director of Technology Readiness (CG-TECH), Office of Data & Analytics (CG-TECH-ODA), Data Integration Division (CG-TECH-ODA2), in New London, Connecticut.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist (Data Management) and directly support the Data Integration Division (DID) Chief of the USCG.
- →DID directly supports the USCG integrated data environment and works and collaborates the USCG ODA Data Strategy and Governance (DSG), Data Analytics Division (DAD) and USCG's Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) divisions, who serve across USCG IT and data management communities.
- →The role requires continuous communication within the ODA, as well as across all USCG lines of business.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Conducting independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an information technology (IT) system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls.
- →Building, managing, and operationalizing data pipelines.
- →Coordinating with the IT Service Center using cloud technology to connect big data applications across all platforms.
- →Working with service managers and product owners to balance and prioritize services to meet overall operational, functional, and technical requirements, constraints, and objectives.
- →Assisting with the coordination, communication, and integration of data products and services provided by the Data Integration Division.
