Inventory Management Specialist - Non-Expendable

About the Role
This position serves as a Property Manager in the Material Management Division of the Logistics Service in a Veteran Affairs Health Care System (VA HCS), and supported catchment area, with responsibility for the inventory and lifecycle management of all non-expendable (NX) equipment in an assigned area(s).
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include but not limited to: Responsible for managing the lifecycle of non-expendable (NX) assets for the organization and supported catchment area.
- →Responsible for conducting short, mid and long-term advanced planning for new and replacement non-expendable assets.
- →Participates in Veteran Integrated Service Network (VISN) and facility strategic planning to support major and minor construction projects, activation of new facilities, and reuse of existing space.
- →Develops and supports the creation of acquisition strategies and standardization initiatives to acquire and purchase high-tech, high-cost medical devices, surgical equipment devices, and major classes of materials.
- →Conducts data and information analysis for acquisition planning associated with materials and/or capital equipment.
- →Analyzes and advises the customer on equipment purchase recommendations.
- →Coordinates final disposition of NX assets.
- →Responsible for initiating Reports of Survey (ROS) for lost, damaged, or stolen property.
- →Manages and controls all inventory transactions requests for NX medical equipment requests.
- →Identifies and rectifies asset management issues with other services, VISN-level staff, and supported contractors.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
