About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, National Threat Analysis Division /Civil Enforcement Division in the locations listed below: New York, NY Chicago, IL Long Beach, CA Houston, TX Miami, FL Washington DC This announcement will be open for 5 business days. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • As a International Trade Analyst, you will serve as a program manager, and often as a project leader, and prioritizes issues warranting enforcement action.
  • This position starts at a salary of $89,508.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to GS-13 (GS-13 Step 10).
  • Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.
  • DUTIES: Utilizes computer systems and data analytics to identify areas of risk in the global supply chain.
  • Organizes raw data in spreadsheets, analyzes data deciphering key takeaways, creates charts, graphs, and reports on results to creatively solve complex problems and develop processes and procedures for enforcement action and concepts for trade strategies.
  • Utilizes a quantitative approach to analyzing data to identify risk areas and apply appropriated enforcement responses, while demonstrating initiative and managing time effectively.
  • Monitors the execution of enforcement actions to ensure that milestones are being met.
  • Writes operational policy for regulatory implementation of trade laws.
  • Recommends corrective action and provides solutions based on level of risk.
  • Represents CBP/OT in a variety of settings and meetings.
  • Determines appropriate recommendations for unresolved and questionable problems and performs follow-up.
  • Researches and determines and recommends appropriate actions and interpretation of issues that impact organization, component, and agency.
