About the Role

This position serves as an Intermediate Care Technician for outpatient care setting such as primary care, mental health and specialty clinics at the Caldwell CBOC in Caldwell, Idaho.

What You'll Do

  • The Intermediate Care Technician (ICT) functions in the clinical associate role in the primary care clinic, which utilizes a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model.
  • The PACT ICT is responsible for providing direct and/or indirect patient care to an assigned group of patients.
  • She/he will have the knowledge, skill and experience to carry out assignments involving point of care testing, providing treatments and vaccinations, performing diagnostic studies, and patient/family education.
  • The ICT demonstrates active collaboration and communication with Patient Aligned Care Teamlet (Patient, Primary Care Provider, RN Care Manager and Administrative Associate) and Larger Team (family/caregiver, internal and community-based services and disciplines involved in providing care to the patient).
  • This is the full performance level for the ICT position.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • The incumbent assists outpatient licensed staff with the delivery of care to patients with complex, specialized, and potentially life-threatening situations.
  • Performs observation-based screening and collecting patient information in collaboration with licensed personnel.
  • This may involve completing clinical reminders, obtaining health history, chief complaints, medication history, and identification of health-related conditions that may impact the patient's health status.
  • Completes approved templates and tools, such as the outpatient intake form, normal result notes, and follow up treatment protocols established by the agency.
  • Observes patient status and keeps licensed clinical staff informed of any change in condition.
  • Assists in behavioral/psychiatric situations in an outpatient setting.
  • Assists licensed staff with preparing patients for medical evaluation, setting up equipment, passing instruments and providing treatment during in person or virtual visits.
  • Collects a wide range of specimens and preparing them for transfer to processing.
