You will serve as an INTERDISICPLINARY ENGINEER (AVIONICS SYSTEMS ENGINEER) in the Missions Systems Group, Avionics Engineering Department, Avionics Systems Engineering Division, and Tactical A/C Systems Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a senior Avionics Systems Engineer operating as a Project Manager assigned to an applicable Program Office at the Naval Air System Command.
- →You will be responsible for the preparation and modification of avionics procurement specifications, drawings and technical documentation for new replacement or modified items of avionics equipment.
- →You will lead the review and analysis of Engineering Investigations and other field reports relating to deficiencies or problems encountered with cited avionics equipment or avionics software and component level integrations issues.
- →You will liaise with other aviation technical communities and fleet support teams for identification of in-service technical problems and with multiple other government organizations, NAVAIR PMAs, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and contractors.
- →You will lead and/or coordinate Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events while representing this command and the Navy as the technical point of contact for assigned equipment.
- →You will determine feasibility of integrating various avionics systems with specific attention to the effects on systems due to the unique aircraft environment and operational tactics required by the operator.
- →You will manage a variety of technical disciplines, provide leadership to numerous technical personnel, and ensure technical requirements are met through proper tasking and coordination of available professional/technical resources.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
