This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Leads major construction projects supporting U.S. Forces Japan, overseeing contractors and ensuring complex facilities, infrastructure, utilities, and rehabilitation projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to high standards.
What You'll Do
- →Reviews construction plans, specifications, site conditions, schedules, and materials to ensure projects are practical, complete, and ready for construction.
- →Oversees construction work in the field, ensuring contractors meet quality, safety, schedule, and contract requirements while resolving construction issues.
- →Tracks project progress, identifies problems and delays, and prepares regular reports on construction status and payments.
- →Works closely with customers, installation staff, contractors, and Japanese government representatives to coordinate construction activities and resolve issues.
- →Leads engineers, construction representatives, technicians, and support staff by assigning work, reviewing performance, and identifying training and development needs.
