This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Position in the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as lead engineer or architect, is responsible to direct and/or perform part of the full range of field engineering functions associated with a major military, civil works, environmental, HTRW or SFO projects, organization and/or Project Office.
What You'll Do
- →Perform constructability review of plans and specifications to determine practicability from a construction viewpoint.
- →Participate in or, when directed, conducting site showings and pre-construction conferences.
- →Review contractor's proposed working schedules for logic, adequacy and to determine construction schedules will be met.
- →Research requests for information (RFis), answers as appropriate and recommends changes in design to cope with at-the-site conditions.
- →Provide field measurements, computations and cost estimates, and first-hand information of site conditions, for use by office engineers in preparing contract modifications.
- →Prepare punch sheet on final inspections of completed contracts and providing technical verification for transfer documents.
- →Ensure strict adherence to safety provisions of the contract.
- →Review as-built drawings to ensure changes in plans and specifications have been accurately noted.
