This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as project engineer in charge of one or more construction projects in support of the District's classified missions.
What You'll Do
- →Coordinate the review of shop drawings to determine conformance with construction plans.
- →Direct surveillance of construction to assure that contractor is conducting quality control operations to produce work in conformance with plans and specifications.
- →Provide technical assistance and advice for resolution of complex problems.
- →Discuss details of construction with contractor’s personnel to ensure mutual understanding of the project requirements.
- →Serve as coach, facilitator, and/or negotiator in coordinating team initiatives and in consensus building activities among team members .
- →Maintain liaison with and participate constantly in discussions with using agency and contractor representatives on matters of safety, post regulations, coordination of utility outages, and progress of the work.
