About the Position: This position is located within the Cascades Project Office, Construction Division, Contract Administration and Technical Section. This Section provides a wide range of services such as project development and execution, contract administration, and technical support for low to medium risk projects across Portland District. The Cascades Project Office is responsible for pre-award development and post-award administration of construction, supply, and service contracts.
What You'll Do
- →Responsible for contract administration and quality assurance for assigned civil works construction, supply, and service projects.
- →Assembling necessary specifications and drawings/sketches to accomplish assigned projects.
- →Conducting pre-work meetings with contractors and Corps customers to ensure proper coordination and understanding of the project and construction schedule is accomplished.
- →Ensuring that contract's quality control, safety, and environmental protection plans are followed and provide satisfactory results, and that all personnel comply with pertinent safety regulations and policies.
- →Responsible for the planning, design, and construction of a variety of fast-track small projects utilizing the team approach.
- →Scoping, estimating, and negotiating all modifications that arise during construction phase.
- →Preparing modifications to assure compliance with the General Provisions of the contract and regulations such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- →Investigates, reviews, and analyzes contractor claims for merit.
- →Monitoring construction projects during all stages to identify major problem areas and take timely corrective actions by investigating construction problems to determine course of action.
- →Reviewing and monitors contractor’s schedules to mitigate unacknowledged schedule impacts.
