About the Role
You will serve as a Interdisciplinary position in the Office of the Operational Test and Evaluation Force (OPTEVFOR), Test Planning and Evaluation Division of COMOPTEVFOR.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide scientific, technical and OPTEVFOR process guidance on the overall approach to evaluating major defense acquisition systems and ensure test and evaluation results of programs are technically evaluated correctly.
- →You will develop, implement, and update best practices for analyzing data collection, performing reliability and maintainability assessments, and logistical support.
- →You will develop and implement new concepts, methodologies, procedures, and designs to achieve the required level of compatibility or commonality across the operational, procedural, and technical spectrums of operational testing.
- →You will validate suitability scenarios ensuring proper application, measurements, and realistic expectation management.
- →You will collaborate with the OTDs and test teams on the development and iterative revision of test reports.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Operations Research Series 1515: Applicants must possess: A bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR A combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
- ✓The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (I) Professional registration or licensure: Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓General Engineering Series 0801: Applicants must possess: A bachelor's or higher degree in operations research.
- ✓OR A bachelor's or higher degree with at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics and at least 3 of the 24 semester hours are in calculus.
