About the Role

You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. What You'll Do

  • You will provide technical direction for mechanical/electronics engineering requirements on surface ship/submarine mechanical/electronics systems for all non-nuclear support work.
  • You will conducts independent and collaborative engineering studies, investigations, and analysis using industry or new engineering principles for the solution of unusual or unprecedented engineering problems.
  • You will serves as technical advisor and ship platform subject matter expert You will acts as a lead/oversight mechanical/electronics troubleshooter in the identification and resolution of problems encountered during installation, grooming, or testing phases of waterfront production efforts.
  • You will work with various Shops and Codes program analysts to identify, develop, and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • You will Ensures proper liaison with the Production Resources, Operations Departments and logistics and Acquisition Departments, providing rapid response for resolution of problems regarding work on surface ship/submarine components.

Requirements

  • Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
  • Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

  • OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
  • Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
