This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the DHA for STRL Bachelor or Advanced Degree Candidates at STRL. Applicatons will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.
What You'll Do
- →You will utilize basic knowledge of Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) Radios, SATCOM Systems, Modems, Antennas/Apertures, Data Links, Analog/Digital Communication principals and practice.
- →You will utilize the components that comprise digital and analog communication system such as radios, amplifiers, transmission lines, antennas and filters.
- →You will read and understand system specification, industry standards and apply them to system design, development and test.
- →You will conduct RF system Analysis (SATCOM RF Link Budgets, Co-Site analysis).
- →You will review and prepare engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess. 0801, 0854, 0855, 0861 Series: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (https://www.ed.gov/).
- ✓Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
- ✓For 1550 Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- ✓At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
- ✓All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
