About the Role
You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY COMPUTER SCIENTIST / DATA SCIENTIST in the OFFICE OF TECHNICAL DIRECTOR of the COMNAVMETOCCOM.
What You'll Do
- →You will develop, implement, and enforce the functional area's data strategy, ensuring alignment with departmental and Federal data management policies.
- →You will leads data stewardship activities, including data quality profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data is accurate, complete, and timely.
- →You will develop and supports data security policies and procedures in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
- →You will apply sophisticated analytical techniques, including machine learning, statistical modeling, and natural language processing (NLP), to complex datasets to identify mission critical trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- →You will conduct the full analytics lifecycle, from requirements gathering and data exploration to feature engineering, model training, and performance monitoring.
- →You will develop and maintain interactive dashboards, geospatial visualizations, and executive-level reports to provide stakeholders with on-demand access to key performance indicators and mission metrics.
- →You will support the Chief Data Officer (CDO) regarding analysis and tracking of programming decisions, funding realignments, budget offsets, and COA development associated with commands Data Strategy to help mitigate high-priority capability gaps.
- →You will manage project execution by coordinating the efforts of cross-functional team members, stakeholders, and technical personnel to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope.

Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Series: COMPUTER SCIENCTIST, SERIES 1550 Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- ✓At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
- ✓All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
- ✓Series: DATA SCIENCTIST, SERIES 1560 Basic Requirements: Degree: Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position.
- ✓The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position. or Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.
