About the Role
About the Position: This position is in the Engineering Division of the New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The District provides for navigation, flood and hurricane risk reduction, environmental stewardship, and other water resources needs to benefit the people of southern Louisiana and the nation.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a senior technical specialist in the environmental and Hazardous, Toxic, and Radioactive Waste (HTRW) fields, directing large-scale environmental projects.
- →Leads a multi-disciplined team through the entire project lifecycle, from initial site assessment to remedial design, construction, and site closure.
- →Manages multiple interdisciplinary teams, distributing workload, setting priorities, and ensuring the timely completion of milestones.
- →Resolves complex design problems, provides expert advice on difficult technical issues, and develops design solutions for environmental remediation.
- →Ensures quality control for in-house work and quality assurance for contractor-produced products.
- →Oversees scopes of work, reviews contractor proposals, and participates in the technical evaluation of bids and procurement methods.
- →Works with project managers to define project scope, timelines, and budgets, and secures necessary resources from various internal and external entities.
- →Provides input on team member performance appraisals, arranges for training, resolves informal complaints, and fosters a safe, efficient, and equitable team environment.
