The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a senior technical subject matter expert (SME) performing and directing the development of Intelligence analysis software, databases, and tools to enable the engineering design, analysis, and modeling & simulation (M&S) of adversary systems involving threats from the Air, Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS), Ballistic Missile, and Cyber domains.

What You'll Do

  • DUTY 1 - Performs multi-disciplinary professional engineering/computer science work involving the application of electronics, mechanical, aerospace, and/or other engineering/computer science disciplines to satisfy the needs of customers in the acquisition, development, and/or sustainment of weapon systems, sub-systems, or support systems.
  • DUTY 2 - Provides intelligence support to enable military operations, force modernization, and policy making.
  • Serves as an interface with DoD customers, other US Intelligence Centers, and foreign allies to develop and define intelligence analysis applications and M&S requirements and to meet those requirements in an efficient and effective manner.
  • DUTY 3 - Serves as an engineering and computer science consultant and technical expert to senior officials, intelligence analysts, engineers, software developers, and/or other national and international Intelligence Community partners.
  • DUTY 4 - Represents NASIC at various DoD, national and international level working groups to advocate NASICs position on intelligence analysis applications and their development; the characterization of threat weapons; and to collaborate or support work involving modeling and simulation.

  • ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 United States Code which sets forth Air Force policies and procedures for DCIPS.
