About the Role
This vacancy is for an Intelligence Specialist responsible for obtaining, monitoring, evaluating, and analyzing all-source information to identify, assess, and manage threats posed by hostile intelligence activities and criminal exploitation, while conducting complex research in support of investigative objectives and planning, preparing, and reviewing scheduled and ad hoc intelligence products.
What You'll Do
- →As an Intelligence Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Obtains, monitors, evaluates, and analyzes all source information to identify, assess and manage threats posed by hostile intelligence activities, or criminal exploitation.
- →Conducts complex research to support investigative objectives.
- →Plans sensitive and difficult intelligence-related projects; plans, prepares or reviews scheduled and ad hoc intelligence products.
- →Maintains accountability of and performs recognized safeguarding practices for classified and sensitive but unclassified information.
- →Establishes, maintains, and employs intelligence, law enforcement, and security contacts to coordinate interests and share information.
- →This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Intelligence Specialist GS-0132-14, GS-14 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location or local commuting area with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- ✓This position requires a TOP SECRET/SCI CLEARANCE: Any required investigations and clearances must be completed before the selectee can be placed in the position.
- ✓You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- ✓This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs.
- ✓A probationary period may be required.
- ✓Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see https://www.sss.gov/).
