About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Intelligence, National Border Security Intelligence Center Directorate, Northeast Regional Intelligence Center located in one of the following locations: Boston, Massachusetts Buffalo, New York New York, New York This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 100 applications have been received, whichever happens first.

What You'll Do

  • This position starts at a salary of $74,678.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $116,362.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $138,370.00 (GS-13 Step 10).

  • Major Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Maintaining current awareness of CBP local, regional, and national intelligence collection requirements, with emphasis on Humen Intelligence (HUMINT) requirements related to transnational organized crime, global terrorism, counterintelligence, counternarcotics, illicit trade, and illicit migration.
  • Researching and reviewing CBP operational and HUMINT reporting to identify reportable information, satisfy validated collection requirements, and support gap analysis and collection management.
  • Producing and disseminating timely Intelligence Information Reports (IIRs) and lead cables that accurately reflect intelligence collected by CBP operational offices and HUMINT sources, ensuring the reliability, validity, and relevance of the information for the CBP intelligence enterprise and the Intelligence Community.
  • Collaborating with collection managers to identify HUMINT collection gaps, recommending collection strategies, and ensuring required intelligence information is captured, documented, and reported to the CBP intelligence enterprise and the Intelligence Community.
  • Providing subject-matter expertise to operational elements regarding HUMINT reporting standards and best practices for documenting and publishing intelligence information as well as working with assigned collection managers to properly relay collection requirements to the field.
