The incumbent will serve as an Instructional Systems Specialist within AJV-T430.
What You'll Do
- →The Instructional Systems Specialist is a recognized subject matter expert in developing and executing training development plans based on extensive knowledge of FAA training program standards and practices.
- →Acts as a principal specialist to develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques of instructional design methods and processes, adult education theories and principles, and educational technologies, methods, and media.
- →Provides project management oversight to course development and other projects, including establishing requirements, budget, and schedule, identifying risks and recommending mitigations, monitoring scope, budget and schedule, communicating project status to management and stakeholders and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- →Reviews deliverables for quality and acceptability before closing out and documenting projects.
- →Assigns tasks and prioritizes the work of multi-disciplinary training development teams for complex programs and projects that have inter-agency and often national impact.
- →The Training Development Program Manager applies experience and expert knowledge to conduct functional activities for programs that often require the development of new and innovative approaches.
- →Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives.
- →Oversees development of processes, plans, and templates to ensure uniformity and consistency of training products and adherence to national policies, standards, systems, and procedures governing FAA and external federal agencies' training.
- →Researches, analyzes, and recommends new training methods, media, and technology for integration into training programs.
- →Identifies, acquires, and assigns resources for large projects/programs/work activities.
- →Generates cost estimates for new projects.
- →Conducts studies and prepares reports on program management efficiency and effectiveness and makes recommendations regarding training program improvements that impact a wide range of training activities to ensure consistent, high-quality training.
- →Maintains an overall schedule of Training Solutions Team programs and reports progress, issues, and risks to the Training Solutions Team manager.
- →Broad policies and objectives provide general guidance for addressing issues but often require the development of new approaches.
