What You'll Do
- →You will evaluate the effectiveness of instructional and educational programs.
- →You will establish instructional design and development criteria through the analysis of educational or instructional problems.
- →You will communicate regularly with subject matter experts and course faculty advisors to solicit feedback, identify best practices, and share strategies.
- →You will write technical reports documenting the efforts, conclusions, or recommendations of analysis and evaluations.
- →You will arrange documents (e.g., Naval messages, correspondence, reports, memoranda, point papers, briefs) to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- →You will observe instructor performance throughout the training facility and evaluates performance utilizing a standardized checklist.
- →You will participate in special projects such as pilot programs, functional process improvement teams, quality teams, and working groups.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess Degree: that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.
- ✓The course work must have included study in at least four of the following five areas: Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
- ✓Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
- ✓Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
- ✓Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
- ✓Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software.
- ✓In lieu of specialized experience, you may meet the minimum qualifications of the position with the following education: Have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education, which includes or is supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.
- ✓My course work includes study in four of the following five areas: 1) Learning Theory, Psychology of Learning, Educational Psychology; 2) Instructional Design Practices; 3) Educational Evaluation; 4) Instructional Product Development; 5) Computers in Education and Training.ORHave successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement.
- ✓The education includes or is supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position to be filled.
- ✓My course work includes study in four of the following five areas: 1) Learning Theory, Psychology of Learning, Educational Psychology; 2) Instructional Design Practices; 3) Educational Evaluation; 4) Instructional Product Development; 5) Computers in Education and Training.
- ✓OR Have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
- ✓My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
