About the Position: This position serves as the IT Specialist (Sysadmin) within the Information Management Division (IMD) Naval Hospital Jacksonville (NHJAX) in Jacksonville, FL. Core hours for the position are 7:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M. Typical office setting, the work is sedentary along with some walking and standing. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) in DoW.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as the lead Project Manager for the entire lifecycle of pharmacy clinical applications, from implementation and integration to enhancement.
- →Manages site preparations, develops comprehensive implementation plans, and acts as the primary technical liaison with vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve complex interoperability challenges.
- →Provides comprehensive administration for the physical and virtual server environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and Storage Area Networks (SANs).
- →Manages a portfolio of pharmacy-specific clinical systems (e.g., Genesis, Pyxis, Scriptpro), handling their deployment, lifecycle upgrades, and security patching to ensure maximum uptime.
- →Architects and manages robust system security protocols to protect data.
- →Ensures all clinical applications and infrastructure remain compliant with DoD and DHA cybersecurity directives to maintain their Authority to Operate (ATO).
- →Acts as the definitive subject matter expert (SME) on all pharmacy IT systems.
- →Provides expert-level technical support and troubleshooting for the hospital and associated branch clinics, and serves as the primary technical advisor to department leadership on system capabilities and new technologies.
- →Performs high-level advisory duties by preparing and presenting project status briefings, technical analyses, and strategic recommendations to leadership.
- →Develops and maintains technical guidance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all managed systems.
