About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Operations Support Office, Laboratories and Scientific Services in Nogales, AZ, El Paso, TX, San Diego, CA, Honolulu, HI, Detroit, MI, or Buffalo, NY.

  • Learn more about CBP's mission, core values and careers at https://www.cbp.gov/about This position is located in the Office of Laboratories and Scientific Services (LSS) within the Operations Support Office (OS), United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
  • You will serve as a subject matter expert in digital forensics in a laboratory, using various software and hardware solutions to conduct advanced laboratory analysis on digital evidence, including portable and electronic media devices.
  • This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
  • Major Duties include: Conducting highly specialized computer and mobile forensic research in a forensically sound manner.
  • Developing and implementing mobile device test plans for mobile forensic tool validation and verification.
  • Preserving, authenticating and analyzing digital evidence to reconstruct events.
