This position is located within the Bureau of Diplomatic Technology, under DCIO for Enterprise Infrastructure, Regional Diplomatic Technology Center (DT/EI/RDTC). DT/EI delivers IT services for overseas operations, advocates policy adoption, and manages infrastructure. The incumbent provides technical, administrative, and systems support to overseas Posts, and as part of the DT Rover Program, helps establish new Posts, travels worldwide on TDY, and serves as sole on-site IT Specialist.
What You'll Do
- →Ensures successful completion of system modifications and enhancements.
- →Redesigns systems to accommodate changes in user requirements, regulations, policies, legislative changes or new technology.
- →Maintains accountability for the continuing functionality of systems at overseas Posts and the enterprise LAN that supports Department-wide, mission critical functions.
- →Exercises responsibility for the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT hardware and software systems.
- →Provides technical advice to other specialists and managers on implementing new or enhanced IT systems, including on-the-job training regarding new and revised methods and techniques for resolving IT issues.
- →Provides additional support to leadership throughout the Bureau and Department, as needed.
