OIG is organized into six operational units: the Immediate Office of the Inspector General, Office of the Counselor, Office of Audits and Evaluations, Office of Healthcare Inspections, Office of Investigations, and Office of Management and Administration. In addition to the Washington, DC, headquarters, OIG has offices located in more than 60 locations throughout the country.
What You'll Do
- →Duty locations are limited to the following for this position: Baltimore, MD; Dallas, TX; Denver/Aurora, CO; Durham, NC; Kansas City, MO; Pittsburgh, PA; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; Seattle, WS; Spokane; Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; Austin, TX; Bay Pines, FL; Chicago ,IL; Frederick, MD; Manchester, NH.
- →Current OIG Employees will remain at their current duty location.
- →As a Information Technology Specialist (DATAMGT), you will: Provide OIG components with comprehensive data analysis support.
- →Work closely with VA and other governmental and private sector agencies to obtain databases and files for OIG use that will improve staff output, provide better product, and increase productivity within the OIG.
- →Coordinate implementation of database designs and modifications of design characteristics in response to complex performance problems, changing customer requirements, or rapidly evolving or constantly changing database systems.
- →Lead project teams in response to requests for data analysis support; plans and coordinates project design, development, and implementation including new data management schema, data structures, and access strategies in alignment with specific requests and overall OIG mission requirements.
Requirements
- ✓The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
- ✓One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
