About the Role

What You'll Do
- →You will assist senior industrial hygienists in conducting routine surveys of industrial, maintenance, and administrative workspaces.
- →You will calibrate, maintain, and operate standard industrial hygiene sampling equipment (e.g., air pumps, noise dosimeters).
- →You will collect environmental samples and record precise field data for laboratory analysis.
- →You will conduct occupational health and safety training for military and civilian personnel on hazard recognition and prevention.
- →You will investigate complex and diverse workplace environments involving multiple, concurrent hazards (e.g., toxic chemicals, extreme noise, heavy metals).
- →You will manage and direct a comprehensive installation-wide or command-wide industrial hygiene program.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the Basic Education Requirement.
- ✓BASIC REQUIREMENT (Applies to all grade levels) You must meet one of the following basic requirements: A.
- ✓Degree: A bachelor's or higher degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health sciences, occupational and environmental health, toxicology, safety sciences, or a related science.
- ✓(Note: Courses in the history or teaching of chemistry are not acceptable).
- ✓Certification: Possess a current Certification from the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (formerly the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH)).
- ✓Courses in the history or teaching of chemistry are not acceptable.
- ✓In Lieu of Experience the following Education GS-07: One (1) full year of graduate-level education related to the position.
- ✓OR Superior Academic Achievement (SAA): A bachelor's degree in a qualifying field with a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 or meeting other SAA criteria.
- ✓OR Combination: An equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate-level education and specialized experience.
- ✓GS-09: A Master's or equivalent graduate degree, OR two (2) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field related to the position.
- ✓OR Combination: An equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate-level education and specialized experience.
- ✓GS-11: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, OR three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field related to the position.
- ✓OR Combination: An equivalent combination of successfully completed graduate-level education and specialized experience.
- ✓GS-12: No educational substitution is permitted for specialized experience at this grade level.
