Serves as an Industrial Hygienist who provides direct project management, technical direction and program execution support to the National Airspace System field units. Reports directly to the Technical Operations, Technical Services Organization, Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Support Operations Group (EOSG), EOSH Program Support Center.
What You'll Do
- →Applies knowledge of FAA's policies and objectives to identify, define, and organize resources for large projects/programs/work activities.
- →Directs and manages all health and industrial hygiene program objectives and goals for the Service Area.
- →Acquires and allocates resources to accomplish activities within established schedules and budgetary requirements.
- →Provides consultation services to other Occupational Safety and Health Specialists, Requirement Specialists, Engineers Managers.
- →Provides direction to managers to ensure all plans and programs incorporate Federal and state mandated health and safety standards into work procedures.
- →Recognized subject matter expert in a specialized area and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive.
- →Formulates and recommends to senior management positions on major projects/ policies/ issues.
- →May act as a principal specialist to develop new and innovative approaches, methodologies, and/or techniques or as a team leader to define and direct challenging projects/programs/activities.
- →Develops and delivers training on industrial hygiene related topics.
- →Applies experience and expert knowledge to conduct functional activities for projects/programs that often require the development of new and innovative approaches.
- →Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that impact on the accomplishment of strategic objectives.
- →Provides leadership and guidance on performing in-depth monitoring, testing, and sampling for health hazards.
- →Recommends actions to eliminate or control health hazards through new technology, improved procedures, or administrative controls.
- →Reviews contractor technical report/lab results, analyzes the data and determines the validity of findings and recommendations.
