About the Role
This vacancy is for a GS-0203-6/7, Human Resources Assistant located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, OFFICE OF CIVILIAN WORKFORCE RELATIONS.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Human Resources Assistant and be responsible for assisting in providing technical support to customers, employees, and management officials and supervisors.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Assisting specialists working in Employee Relations (ER), Labor Relations (LR), performance management, awards, and employee engagement functions.
- →Preparing correspondence for final signature, xeroxing, filing, answering phones and directing calls, responding to basic ER, LR, performance management, awards, and employee engagement questions, assisting in preparation of documents, case files.
- →Ensuring adequate ER, LR, performance management, awards, and employee engagement case management records are maintained, and information is input to the data repository in a timely manner.
- →Performing general office administrative support including timekeeping, scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing meeting minutes, maintaining the office SharePoint/web page, ordering supplies, and other customer and internal resources and materials.
- →Conducting research and provides technical answers to inquiries from employees and officials related to ER, LR, performance management, awards, and employee engagement.
- →Assisting specialists in case management by researching case law to identify precedents for current ER, LR, performance management, awards, and employee engagement problems or search similar cases or complaints for potential problems in handling current cases.
- →Processing personnel actions consistent with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
