About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

What You'll Do

  • VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU MAJOR DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Responsible for providing case management for a specified caseload of veterans in the HUD-VASH program.
  • The incumbent is responsible for reviewing agreements between Section 8, landlords, Public Housing Authorities and the VA in establishing appropriate referral sites for HUD-VASH placements.
  • The incumbent performs site visits for HUD-VASH apartments to ensure that veterans reside in safe environments in compliance with local housing codes.
  • The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that homeless veterans are considered as primary participants for program acceptance.
  • Must take responsibility for improving professional skills, participating in planning and executing specific staff development projects, attending seminars and institutes, and participating in training programs of other disciplines as requested.
  • Must conduct psychosocial assessments to determine needs of veterans and family members.
  • Must be an active participant in the treatment planning process with other disciplines.
  • Must participate in discharge planning with other disciplines and will be responsible for ensuring that discharge plans are executed in a manner that is timely and appropriate.
  • Must provide individual, family and group counseling as appropriate or refer clients to other services/resources that provides family and group counseling.
  • Must provide consultation/education to veterans and families on community resources, advance directives and VA benefits.
  • Must act as liaison between VA and community resources, to include marketing and public relation duties as needed.
  • Must coordinate treatment and communicate with other services to facilitate continuity of care for veterans.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Telework: Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S.
  • Citizen to apply for this job.
