About the Role
This position is located in Hot Springs National Park, in the Division of Interpretation.
What You'll Do
- →Conducts research on a various of relevant historical topics.
- →Provides programs to diverse audiences in a manner to foster appreciation and thoughtful discussion.
- →Develop interpretative programs of historical relevance.
- →Mentor and train staff on topics of historical significance and program presentation.
- →Write reports, presentations and web content relating to complex and sensitive historical topics for diverse audiences that is appropriate, and accurate.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service); with few exceptions as outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).
- ✓As part of your official duties, you may need to operate a government or private motor vehicle.
- ✓Before your first operation and annually thereafter, you must sign an affidavit confirming you hold a valid, current State-issued driver's license that has not been revoked, suspended, or disqualified.
- ✓You are also required to provide a photocopy of your license at these times.
- ✓Additionally, management may request certified driving records from all relevant States, submitted directly by State authorities or in a sealed envelope, at your expense.
- ✓Please indicate on your application if you possess a valid State driver's license.
- ✓You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓You may be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- ✓Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
