This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. *** Applicants please be aware: This position is known as a LINEMAN in the private sectors*** About the Position: This is a developmental position with full performance at the WG-1 0 level.
What You'll Do
- →As an intermediate level High Voltage Electrician the incumbent works in situations which provide training to develop skills and knowledge of the occupation.
- →Training capacity, and under normal supervision, performs the full range of work involved in the maintenance, installation and repair of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems energized up to approximately 115KV.
- →Install, replace and/or repair pole, cross-arms, transformer racks and hangers, insulators, breakers, fuses, primary and secondary conductors, transformers, brackets and braces, guy wires.
- →Install underground cable and conduit, runs overhead wire and conduit and attaches to cross-arms and makes electrical connection by splicing and/or other method.
- →Operate standby generator equipment and truck with winch and power-takeoff, posthole digger, aerial boom, and related equipment.
- →Observes all safety rules and regulations.
- →Serve as a member of an electrical team or line crew performing routine installation, maintenance and repairs on electrical distribution systems or substation equipment.
- →Work on power cables, transformers, insulators, and control equipment such as switches and circuit breakers in substations or on distribution lines
