This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The position is with the US Army Garrison, Directorate of Public Works, located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. APG is located in Harford County, MD. The area offers housing, public, private school systems, recreation, sports, golf, pools, and child/day care facilities.
What You'll Do
- →Perform the full range of work involved in the repair, overhaul, maintenance and servicing of heating, ventilation and air conditioning units and systems.
- →Troubleshoot and repair equipment which specifications and technical manuals do not exist or have large gaps.
- →Train inexperienced personnel by giving on-the-job instructions and assistance.
- →Prepare instructional material and conduct instruction of operators.
- →Serve as emergency (no heat) mechanic.
- →Installs and repairs underground high- and low-pressure gas distribution lines.
- →Operate a government vehicle that does not exceed the 1-ton weight range; operates a forklift.
