About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency at the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center located at Fort Hood, Texas. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Positions may be filled in various departments within the medical center. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan Repayment may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Complete screening of patients to include recording chief complaint, blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, height, weight, measure and record intake and output, and notify a medical professional of abnormal readings.
- →Apply antiseptic solution for immunizations/skin testing; apply and remove bandages, binders, simple dressings, and hot and cold packs; and physically assist patients in walking, moving, and changing positions.
- →Perform general maintenance duties including cleaning and arranging supply carts; cleaning and sorting supplies, instruments, and equipment; reporting deficiencies in supplies and equipment; and cleaning utility rooms.
- →Screen and administer standard immunizations; and observe and report any signs or symptoms of impending reactions, documenting accordingly.
- →Receive requests for appointment by telephone or in person; obtain information required to determine appropriate action; schedule appointments with the appropriate clinic and health care provider; and maintain waiting lists.
- →Obtain urine samples; perform urine dipsticks and finger sticks for blood glucose; input lab requests; and direct the patient to the lab or perform and document mini lab results.
