About the Role

The Office of the Chief of Staff at the Tibor Rubin VAMC, located in Long Beach, California, is currently recruiting for a Health System Specialist. This position is located in Credentialing & Privileging office.

What You'll Do

  • The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) has adopted the HR Modernization and Shared Services Implementation, which is a new model of organizing and consolidating essential Human Resource (HR) functions and services to the Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) level.
  • This improvement to HR service delivery will support the needs of the VISN's diverse workforce and the expectations of management related to the acquisition, compensation, retention, and performance of staff, as well as the consistent execution of HR-related administrative functions to benefit both staff and Veterans.
  • This streamlined and focused approach moves VHA forward in its continuum of providing comprehensive, compassionate, and coordinated care to Veterans.
  • The incumbent serves as a Health System Specialist and is assigned to the Medical Staff Office, which is under the Chief of Staff at a VA Medical Center (VAMC) and is responsible for conducting analytical reviews, managing and tracking data, and serving as an advisor to VAMC leadership on key processes related to the Credentialing and Privileging (C&P) program of the VAMC.
  • The incumbent applies analytical and evaluative methods and techniques for assessing the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of key program processes and makes recommendations to leadership for improving policies, processes and procedures.
  • This position is supervised by the C&P Manager.
