About the Role

The VA CSP is the division of the VA Office of Clinical Science Research and Development (CSR&D) responsible for planning and conducting national multi-center studies. VA CSP has 40 years' experience providing collaboration for research design, statistical analysis, data management, regulatory, technical, education, and administrative coordination for clinical trials involving various scientific areas of research conducted to improve the health and care of the Veteran and the nation.

What You'll Do

  • GS-13: Duties include: Developing leadership councils, team activities, and motivational approaches.
  • Working closely with the national CSP Coordinating Centers to maintain the global standard operating procedures (SOPs) that have been developed for the Cooperative Studies Program.
  • Monitoring patient consent and privacy authorization forms to assure they are compliant with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and VA policies for the conduct of medical research.
  • Developing programs to insure that quality provisions are planned, developed and implemented to identify, prevent and correct unsatisfactory conditions and elements which influence the regulatory correctness and responsiveness of transactions and services.
  • Monitoring and overseeing the implementation of the quality management program.
  • Developing plans and programs for achieving and maintaining total quality transaction processing and customer service throughout the business cycle.
  • Overseeing the regulatory and clinical compliance of all clinical research studies at the Center.
  • Overseeing the daily operation of the QA Section, ensuring that agency policies and priorities are being followed.
  • Maintaining the central files for all IRB (central and local) actions taken in conjunction with studies coordinated by the Center.
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
