This position serves as a Health System Specialist within Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Medical Operations Center, supporting nationwide healthcare operations. This position analyzes and coordinates operational initiatives and utilize specialized knowledge in the area of health care service administration, continuous quality improvement and data analysis, to provide expert advice on operational policies and ensure these policies are coordinated with and in support of field operations.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties include but are not limited to: Coordinates operational initiatives and assignments between the Office of the Chief Operating Officer/Medical Operations Center and VHA program offices, staff offices, and field operations.
- →Monitors and manages incoming actions and requests from receipt through completion, ensuring responses are accurate, complete, timely, and consistent with VA/VHA policies and procedures.
- →Conducts analytical studies of healthcare operational processes, special projects, and complex issues using planning, statistical measurement, data analysis, and evaluation techniques.
- →Leads assigned projects from initiation through completion and presents analytical findings, recommendations, and results to senior VHA leadership.
- →Develops position papers, decision documents, reports, and other materials addressing complex and sensitive healthcare operational issues with national impact.
- →Coordinates responses to audits and reviews conducted by oversight organizations, including OIG and GAO, and tracks required actions through completion.
- →Collaborates with VHA leadership, program offices, and other stakeholders to evaluate policies, plans, operational systems, and communication processes and resolve operational issues.
- →Coordinates executive meetings, events, committees, and organizational engagements; develops agendas, briefing and presentation materials, and provides guidance to senior management on upcoming activities and priorities.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 08:00-04:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Available Telework: This position may be authorized for ad hoc telework.
- →Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
- →Ad hoc is defined as occasional, non-recurring telework.
- →Virtual: This position may be authorized for Virtual Work.
- →Virtual Work eligibility is for current VA employees that are already subject to the return to in person work mandate in their current position.
- →Definition of Virtual Work: Employee works outside of original hiring duty station at a VA owned or leased space.
